Chief Emily Whetung is a descendent of the Whetung name as far back as its origins.
Chief Whetung is a graduate from both York University Osgoode Hall Law School and Trent University.
Prior to being elected as Chief of Curve Lake First Nation, Chief Whetung specialized in property law assisting both Indigenous and Non-Indigenous clients.
Today, Chief Whetung is at the forefront of ending the water crisis in Curve Lake First Nation community and educating organizations on how to build meaningful and lasting gold-standard relationship with First Nation communities.
