www.aboriginalaccess.ca/instem-at-homeIndigenous Futures in Engineering (InEng – formerly Aboriginal Access to Engineering) is a broad-scope program in outreach and student success at Queen’s University. A key outreach element of InEng is the support we provide for Indigenous youth and their teachers. Our Covid-era response of providing virtual school workshops for First Nation schools means that we are able to take on a much wider range of school partners than ever before! Please see the link above to find out more.
InEng also provides culturally relevant student support services to Indigenous students enrolled in the Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science at Queen’s University. InEng strives to support the academic, physical, spiritual and emotional needs of students. Through InEng, students have access to tutoring and exam prep sessions, mentoring opportunities with practicing Indigenous engineers, and liaison with industries particularly interested in the development of Indigenous engineers through summer employment, internships and permanent positions.
Indigenous students, as well as families or schools of students considering study at the Queen’s Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science are encouraged to contact the Director of Indigenous Futures in Engineering for more information about the services available to them through this initiative.
